This June, AIM Squad marked eight years in business — a milestone that Los Angeles Wire covered here. Numbers like “600+ websites” and “eight years” are easy to put in a headline. What’s harder to capture in a press release is what actually changed along the way — so we wanted to use this post to go a little deeper than the announcement did.
We Started Solving One Problem, and Ended Up Solving a Bigger One
AIM Squad started in 2018 because small business owners kept running into the same wall: marketing vendors that either handed every client the same template, or made the process so complicated nobody could tell if it was working. The original fix was simple — build real, custom websites and be straightforward about what we were doing and why.
That problem hasn’t gone away. But somewhere along the way, the definition of “showing up online” got a lot bigger. Eight years ago, ranking on Google was the whole game. Today, a business also needs to show up in the AI answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews — tools more customers now use before they ever type a search query the old-fashioned way. We didn’t set out to become an AI-visibility company. We became one because our clients needed it.
The Clients Taught Us as Much as We Taught Them
Every client on our roster has pushed our approach in a different direction. A stem cell clinic in Cancun needed us to think about international patients and HIPAA-compliant systems, not just a pretty homepage. A third-generation roofing company in Mission Viejo needed us to think about what happens when decades of reputation doesn’t translate into Google rankings. A mobile catering business needed checkout logic built for entrée selections and event scheduling, not a generic “buy now” button. None of that was in the original plan — it’s what eight years of real client problems actually looks like.
What Hasn’t Changed
The tools have changed. The core belief hasn’t: a website’s job isn’t to exist, it’s to work — to get found, to convert, and to keep working after launch. That’s still the standard we hold every project to, whether it’s website number 12 or website number 600.
Frequently Asked Questions
How has AIM Squad’s approach changed since 2018?
The core commitment to custom, results-focused work hasn’t changed. What’s expanded is the toolkit — AI search visibility (AEO/GEO), AI receptionists, and CRM automation are now part of nearly every engagement, where in 2018 the focus was almost entirely on the website itself.
What kinds of businesses does AIM Squad work with?
Primarily small and mid-sized businesses across the U.S., with a growing number of international clients, spanning healthcare, home services, hospitality, e-commerce, and professional services.
